ABOUT NEW STAFF TRAINING

Congratulations on being invited to the New Staff Training conference!

In preparation for the conference we ask that you please read through the pages listed on the left sidebar carefully and thoroughly. You are responsible for all information included.

We are excited about helping God’s people accomplish what they believe He has called them to.  GCM's New Staff Training conference is for new missionaries with GCM.  During the conference we will be talking about GCM, what it means to be a missionary with us, employment and HR policies, and training on Ministry Team Development. 

Many people have visions and desires to serve God with all their hearts, but few have the needed resources to accomplish the God-size tasks.  We believe that God has to provide everything for us to accomplish His calling on our lives, but we are required to work as hard as we can, using our gifts and talents.

Ministry Team Development (MTD) is all about linking God’s provision with our desire, skills and sweat.  We introduce the ministry and our calling to people who have the ability to help though financial giving or introducing us to others.  As God continues to connect us with others, the goal can be reached.  This process generally continues as long as we are called to support based ministry.

However, MTD is not for everyone.  God calls us all to be involved with some form of ministry, whether volunteer or career.   But, support based ministry requires a very clear understanding of the commitment and sacrifice that are needed when seeking donor funding.  God will provide all that we need and will challenge our faith along the way.  MTD allows a person to accomplish God’s desire in them, but we realize this is not true for everyone.

During New Staff Training we will spend the majority of the time focusing on the various aspects of MTD.  We will teach you...

* How to make a phone call to set up an appointment to share your story.
* How to communicate your story – what’s the need, what’s the vehicle for meeting the need (GCM), what’s your part in meeting the need, what’s a donor’s part in meeting the need.
* How to effectively ask for someone for help.
* What do I do if they answer …..”YES!”, “no” or “maybe”.
* How to cultivate ongoing relationships with those who are desiring to invest in the ministry.
* How GCM can help you be as successful as possible.
