new staff training
Required Preparations - Read the book, People Raising, by William P. Dillon. This book will be sent to you from the GCM office before the conference and should be read before you arrive at the conference.
- Name-storm - think of people who you want to connect with about your ministry. Below you find an excel file that you can use to start keeping track of their information in. We have also included a namestorming guide below that will help you as you try to think of people. Please go through, name-storm and try to fill out as much information as possible before you arrive at the conference.
If already Provisionally Accepted by GCM, please complete the following: - Read Employee Manual. The Employee Manual is found on StaffNet. You will receive access to StaffNet once you have been provisionally accepted with GCM.
- Complete new missionary documents and bring to New Staff Training.

Recommended - Computer - We strongly encourage each of you to bring a personal laptop if you have one available. It will be helpful during workshop sessions. A few computers are available at the conference, but past participants have liked having their own available.
Miscellaneous - Please contact GCM immediately if you cannot attend this conference.
- Give the GCM office phone number to family and friends before your departure in case of an emergency.
- If you have any questions about the conference, please call Stephanie Stahre at 407-671-9700 ext. 124 or e-mail: staff.program@gcmweb.org.
Bring the following items: - Pen, pencils, calculator, and Bible.
- A long-distance phone card or cell phone for use during the phone calling sessions.
- Good quality, hard-copy pictures of yourself and the ministry you are involved with (small and large groups, events, faces). These photos will be used in a presentation album, so bring 15-20 of the best pictures you can find. This is very important and will help with your presentation.
